Re-imagining Rural Church

Ups and downs of small village ministry

In September (2010) we had no-one but ourselves at the coffee morning and I was wondering whether it was worth continuing.

October Coffee morning was in conjunction with the Parish Hall committee and although few of their supporters came we had several other local people who we have not met before which was great.  One lady was interested in starting a group and I offered her our premises.  I hope she comes back to us.

This month the weather was awful and it looked like we would be lonely agian.  In the end we had 5 adults, 5 children and a teenager despite one couple from the church being away again.  The children enjoyed playing on the Nintendo and/or making cards while the adults had a nice drink and chat.  We had a lovely atmosphere in the chapel and I felt things were going well again.

More encouragement came in our worship service in November when we welcomed a new member.

We have secured an evening in the Cruwys arms for carols and mince pies on 12th December, which I'm really looking forward to.  Please pray that the local people will support it.
